Doors & Hinges
We offer safes with either a single or double doors. Depending on the hinge type chosen, our doors can be quarter-inch thick (Standard or Safari hinge) or increase to either half-inch or one-inch thick (Standard hinge).
We offer doors with two types of hinges:
Standard
The standard hinge is a piano style hinge, located on the front side of our safes. This is a traditional hinge placement and offers maximum security.
Safari Hinge
The “Safari hinge” was developed by Visalia Safes and is available exclusively to our customers. This unique configuration offers the same level of security as our standard hinge but maximizes interior access. The position of the piano hinge on the side of the safe allows the safe door to swing open fully, giving unobstructed access to the safe’s interior.
The hinges on your safe can be placed on either side of your safe so the door swings open to the left or to the right. Every safe door uses our robust piano hinge design, which maximizes the strength and longevity of your safe by distributing the weight of the door across the whole hinge. This design also prevents sag in the door from weight, guaranteeing the tight joint around the door frame for the life of your safe.
