Fire & Humidity Protection
Protecting your valuables means more than keeping them safe from thieves. Fire protection is another important consideration. Our Superior and Ultimate safes come equipped with fire protection measures. For Superior safes, we use Type X “fireboard,” which offers a fire rating protecting the contents for up to 60 minutes. For our top-of-the-line Ultimate range, we use heavy-duty ceramic wool in between the inner liner and the body of the safe. This insulator is rated to protect up to 3260 degrees. Layers of fireboard can be optionally be added for additional protection.
Keeping moisture out of your safe is another important consideration. Visalia Safes use the EvaDry dehumidification system, made by EvaDry of Tampa, Florida. The system is designed to provide protection against humidity without electricity or toxic chemicals. The system uses silica gel technology and can absorb up to 8 ounces of water over 60 days. When it’s getting full, the indicator will turn orange and you can plug it in to dry the gel beads out for re-use. It comes with a 5-year warranty and lasts up to 10 years.
